  • Will DVCrypt CAM module be released for use in DVB-C Tuners, TVs?

  • Yes, it has already been released, but in order to make our module itself economically competitive, it is necessary to place its production in China. We are working on it now.

  • Will the function of the address newsletter in the DVCrypt system be implemented?

  • This function is not related to the system of conditional access as well as EPG. However, since these functions are solved more economically in such multifunctional devices as ours, we are ready to realize this function, but unlike EPG this function is not standard enough. Therefore, it requires an individual project for each type of receivers. Without serious support from the developers of receivers, this issue cannot be solved in principle. Unfortunately, this is not easy, since manufacturers of budget settopboxes, as a rule, have no developers of this level.

  • Will the OTA function be implemented in the DVCRYPT system?

  • The OTA function (in particular UPGRADE receivers) has already been implemented. However, many other functions based on this standard are inextricably linked with the work of the receiver. Only the developers of receivers can provide the information that is understandable to the receiver, which our equipment in turn transmits to these receivers.

  • Is DVCRYPT compatible with the Simulcrypt standard?

  • At the current stage of the development of digital cable networks, this issue is before us, as developers of a budget system that allows almost any cable network to start digital broadcasting. It is for the sake of ensuring the accessibility of the system that we in the basic system, for example, included the system of accounting subscribers of only the entry -level, simultaneously providing the possibility of integration with a third -party, more powerful or with the operator already available to the billing system. The implementation of Simulcrypt, in principle, is possible, since our system is built on the basis of the standard CSA algorithm. At the same time, I would not want to significantly complicate the system and significantly increase its cost. If there is a demand and several small operators will turn to us and repent of their needs, then it is quite possible that we will be able to solve this problem with the least costly method, without using all the possibilities of the standard.

  • Will the volume of subscribers base be increased in DVCRYPT?

  • At present, this is not provided, since we do not see the need for this. The DVCRYPT system is designed for budget solutions. The system that serves more than 100 thousand subscribers requires a fairly large support and, accordingly, has a higher cost. Networks above 100 thousand digital cable subscribers can be counted on the fingers, and we did not count on them when developing the system. Another thing is if our real customers will develop their networks so much and such an extension will be required, then we will begin these works. Theoretically, there is nothing complicated in this work.

  • Whether DVCrypt itself works with various TV models.

  • While we checked our module itself with television receivers of several main firms: Sony, Samsung, Philips, LG. Everything is fine, but it is likely to work in this direction, since tracking the work of the modules of other companies, for example SMIT, we have compatibility comments. Accordingly, to guarantee that our module will work with all models, we will not take ourselves, but we will work on it.

  • Why, after installing the DVCRYPT system, do not open channels?

And there are more and more such, since everyone is interested in integration (free) into their support receivers, as many systems as possible. Each operator can contribute to this process - the more appeals to the manufacturers of receivers, the faster they introduce our system. The relationship between CAS DVCRYPT and CAS Conax is only that they are based on the same CSA (Common Scrambling Algoritm) algorithm developed by the ETSI and approved by the DVB consortium. The DVCRYPT system is officially registered by the DVB consortium and has Ca_Sys_id = 0x4aec.

  • Why, when viewing the EPG, the receiver shows the wrong font, when using the Russian font, but there are no problems in the English font?

  • This may be due to the incorrectly installed encoding in the DVCRYPT server settings. In the settings, it is possible to install the encoding of Windows 1251 or ETSI EN 300 468. If this does not help, then the reason is most likely in the receiver, it does not support Cyrillic encoding.

  • How many programs can be in the package?

  • Theoretically, the system can support 128 packets. The current version of the system may include up to 32 converters. The base shell of the program now supports 128 packages.

  • Why is so much attention paid to grounding and contacts?

  • Practice has shown that digital signals are especially sensitive to all kinds of contact phenomena. So there was a case when the client complained for a long time about the unstable operation of the digital PRL, and he answered in the affirmative of our questions about grounding, but did almost nothing, not counting, apparently, our recommendations serious, akin to the recommendations of the doctors about fresh air, etc. This continued until the ground, while the grounding was established. And such cases are repeated quite often.

  • Is it possible to increase the cable by which the digital signal is transmitted using adapters?

  • No less important is the quality of signal connection, no extent, extension and lengthening are unacceptable. In addition, the connection should be carried out by the standard connector, no adapters are unacceptable.

  • How to implement the broadcasting of several programs in one channel in DVCRYPT?

  • Currently, the ability to work on the schedule has been fully implemented, i.e. In one channel at different times, you can broadcast different programs. Programs have different logical numbers and can be included in different packages. For the full implementation of this possibility, you will need a refinement of the DVCRYPT program. For example, the following schedule can be implemented: 07:00 - 23:00 Program #001 (Discovery) 23:00 - 07:00 Program #025 (Adult TV) The program #001 is included in the BASIC package #025 is a Premium package, for the client, signed only for the Basic package at 23:00, the channel will be closed. For a client signed on Basic and Premium, everything will remain openly. Implementation does not allow you to tie the schedule for the days of the week. The system works autonomously, without requiring constant connection with the control computer.

  • What is the procedure for programming cards and who will do this?

  • The card is programmed in two doses. The system supplier enters into the card the basic part of the data necessary for the operation of the system, inaccessible to the network operator. Cards are programmed individually for each TV network, and if it either falls into another TV, then it is impossible to use it in it. The operator of the TV network, in turn, must write the digital keys assigned to the card himself and only after that the card can be issued to the subscriber. The record of the keys can be made only by the programmer received from the system supplier, to change the keys in the card using another programmer, even if there is an appropriate program. Two keys are written in the card - acting and reserve. The backup digital key is recorded in case there is a need to replace the keys operating in the system. The system goes to the backup key to the period of gradual replacement of the keys. Naturally, not knowing the keys, neither the manufacturer, nor, moreover, another operator, can make cards for illegal viewing. The only possibility of the production of such cards has its own personnel serving the programmer, and then, using only the cards ordered from the supplier, the number of which is known.

  • What statistical remultiplexors are compatible with DVCRYPT-TERAYON, CHERRRYPICKERKER?

  • We recently had such a case with our client.

    The password for accessing the DVCrypt server is the master password. And it cannot be recovered. Therefore, you have lost your entire subscriber base. If you are using a subscriber database, you must have forgotten it.
